Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Europe to Expand Range of Technologies

LONDON – Sept. 11, 2007 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced that its Mission Systems Europe operations is to increase the range of capabilities and technologies it offers to customers to include unmanned ground vehicles and air traffic control systems.     

Starting January 2008, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Europe will include the UK and Norway operations of the company’s Remotec and Park Air Systems businesses.

The capabilities of Remotec, a world-leading provider of hazardous duty robotics, and Park Air Systems, a Europe-based developer of communication, navigation and surveillance systems for the commercial air traffic control industry, complement those of Mission Systems Europe, which is recognized for its significant systems integration capabilities and expertise.

“Both Remotec and Park Air Systems offer synergies with the growth objectives for Mission Systems,” said Jerry Agee, president of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector. “We are uniquely positioned to take advantage of their respective strengths and market opportunities. Remotec’s capabilities in robotics will enable us to penetrate the military force protection and civil public safety markets. As a provider of end-to-end communications solutions for airport markets, Park Air Systems is also a perfect fit for our portfolio of businesses, which includes an emphasis on systems integration opportunities involving turnkey systems.”

Remotec’s UK business and Park Air Systems’ UK and Norway based businesses will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Europe operations headquartered in Fareham, Hampshire, and will support the expansion activities of that organisation.

Remotec, based in Coventry, UK and Clinton, Tenn. in the US, is an industry leader in developing and manufacturing unmanned ground vehicle systems for police, military, and industrial applications in more than 52 countries worldwide. Park Air Systems, based in Peterborough, UK and Oslo and Horten, Norway, supplies communication, navigation and surveillance systems for air-space operations worldwide.
